Principal/Sr. Research Associate, Late Phase Characterization, Analytical Development

Position Summary:

The individual in this role will be a highly skilled, talented and motivated scientist that will be focused on late phase characterization. He/she will participate in performing mRNA forced degradation studies, mRNA purification, kinetic analysis and elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of mRNA breakdown. The individual will work with other RAs and Scientists within the Analytical Research, Analytical Operations and Platform Analytics teams. The successful candidate must have a BS with at least 5 years of industry experience, or MS with at least 3 years of industry experience (Analytical, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related science) developing and performing analytical, biochemical, molecular, biophysical and cellular assays.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of samples for characterization studies
  • Performing kinetic analysis of RNA degradation
  • Elucidation of RNA degradation pathways
  • Accountable for project success and results delivery
  • Record and communicate findings
  • Presentation of results at internal meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS with at least 5 years of industry experience, or MS with at least 3 years of industry experience (Analytical, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related science),
  • Experience in developing and performing analytical, molecular, biochemical and/or biophysical assays
  • Experience in performing forced degradation studies on biologics
  • Hands on experience with HPLCs and CE
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with nucleic acid therapeutic characterization
  • Ability to multi-task to meet aggressive timelines, and technology development and research goals
