Job Description

Mechanical Engineer 

 This individual will work as a mid to senior level Mechanical Hardware Engineer supporting development and production of thermal imaging sensor products. The successful candidate will be able to work both individually and while interfacing with other team members representing a wide range of disciplines, working closely to achieve design, manufacturing and test objectives. This individual will demonstrate a clear dedication to taking ownership of his or her work, a drive to not leave tasks incomplete or not understood, and be absolutely committed to making the team, products and programs successful. Provide sustaining Mechanical Engineering support for both new and existing thermal imaging sensor products in production. Perform root cause assessments on production issues. Identify solutions and perform analysis as required to verify validity of proposed solutions. Work with factory operations personnel to effectively implement improvements. Oversee design drafting on update of associated documentation. Generate and present design review packages for internal and external audiences. Support the environmental testing of hardware including: vibration, shock, thermal, fatigue and others as required. Learn and develop skill sets for packaging design and performance analysis of future focal plane products. Support new product development efforts through design and build of prototype systems in support of business development pursuits. Other duties as assigned.               

Skills Required      •              Strong Mechanical Aptitude •           Ability to support design and development of hardware to ensure requirements compliance •              Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform tolerance assessments •            Ability to perform basic thermal, static and dynamic structural analysis • Good communication and organizational skills Eligible for Secret Level security clearance             

Skills Preferred    Clean room/semiconductor foundry and back-end assembly experience a strong plus.     

Experience Required          8 years or more  

Experience Preferred         10 years or more

Education Required             BSME     

Education Preferred           MSME    

Additional Information        software tools being used for mechanical design- Pro-Engineer software tools being used for thermal, static and dynamic structural analysis- Several options available including: ANSYS Workbench, Icepack, Siemens NX There's a possibility of both extension and/or conversion.
